Welcome to 271 Ridge Rd…

This turn key 2,500 square foot contemporary Farmhouse is located on a quiet country road in the town of Milton and sits on just over one acre. Built in 2020 the house offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms, high ceilings, hard wood floors, two fireplaces and big beautiful windows that let in tons of natural light. Sit by the fireplace in the screened in porch and enjoy views of the vineyard that is right outside your backdoor. Warm yourself on a chilly autumn eve by the fire pit while the dogs run safely in the fenced in backyard. The home is ultra efficient with solar energy and a Tesla back up battery located in your two car garage.

There is also an A-frame entertainment space featuring a swing that could be used as a play house, or just a cool spot for you and your friends to hang out.

Plant vegetables in the raised bed garden, or just relax on the beautifully landscaped property with its birch trees and pines. Nestled between apples orchards and vineyards the home is still only ten minutes from the Poughkeepsie train station, eight minutes from a major grocery store and two minutes from the local convenience shop and deli. A short drive to the Hudson Valley’s best wineries, breweries, restaurants and hikes.

68 miles from NYC. Take the train or the thruway and come see for yourself.

  • Moving from the city we wanted to be in nature but also have community. We also aren’t super handy or up for DIY renovations outside of interior design projects.  Living in a brand new build in a tight-knit neighborhood surrounded by farms and vineyards was the perfect combination of all of the above.

When we first moved we split our time between the city and Milton. Our neighbors treated us like family, always willing to put a package in the garage if we were away and including us in holiday celebrations when we are around. This house has been our sanctuary during a crazy time of life, peaceful, warm and full of so so much life and love.

  • One of the best things about Marlborough is the farms, vineyards and central location.  Marlborough specifically has the most agricultural tourism in the region.  We have the highest density of social farms and vineyards where you can spend the day eating, listening to music and relaxing.

If you find yourself wanting to explore other areas, Milton is conveniently located 20-30 minutes from New Paltz, Beacon, Kingston, Rhinebeck and Millbrook.  We can be to Poughkeepsie and Newburgh in under 15 minutes. Other easy under 1.5 hour day trips include Hudson, the Catskills region and New York City.

  • For quick grocery runs, we go to Hannaford Supermarket in Highland. It's about 7 minutes away.

  • Our favorite grocery store is Adams in Poughkeepsie, we can get there in 15 minutes.  Adams is locally owned and our favorite place for produce, meat, fish, fresh flowers and plants.  Their greenhouse and cafe are a great afternoon activity!

  • The best place to drink morning coffee is the sunroom, looking at the vineyard and listing to natures soundtrack - the amount of birds in this area is truly unique.

If you’re looking for a coffee outside of home,

Kellys bakery in Poughkeepsie is our favorite easy place for a coffee and breakfast! We also love crafted cup and a walk around Vassar college.

For a fancier cup of coffee and brunch, Wildflower Farms in Gardiner is a beautiful!

  • Overlook Farm Stand is open Friday - Sunday starting in May and is walkable from our house.  Nina and farmer Jim are the best kind of people with the most delicious and widest range of fresh fruits, vegetables, eggs and plants.

A short 3 minute drive away the Trapani family has a farm stand and CSA that we have participated in and enjoyed.

  • Nostrono vineyards is less than 5 minutes away and the perfect sport for winding down on the weekend.  Wine, wood fire pizzas and fresh salads!

  • DuBois farm in highland and Weed Orchards in Marlboro.  Both farms are under 5 minutes away and have calendars full of activities and festivals around special picking days! They are both also open on weekdays for more leisurely and low key picking experiences.

For pick your own flowers, Hudson Wildflower Farms recently had their inaugural season and it has been a big hit and destination for people all over the hudson valley! Lucky for us, their flower farm is less than 2 minutes away and a lovely way to spend a morning before the heat and crowds pick up!

  • Hikes in Minnewaska State Park, bike rides/walks/runs on the rail trail and Walkway over the Hudson, exploring diners in different “destination” villages and walking their main streets.  Bagels in Beacon and eating them at the dock park and collecting rocks and driftwood!

There are so many fun brewerys and distilleries with great food in the area, Brooklyn Cider House, Locust Grove and The Hudson House Distillery are worth noting.  Also great seasonal makers markets, Field & Supply and The Farmhouse Project

If you play tennis, Poughkeepsie Tennis Club is less than 15 minutes away and a great daytime and evening destination, including swimming, cafe and indoor/outdoor tennis and pickleball courts.
